Granny Naked: Capturing the Beauty of an Older Woman at 70

Barbara Hammer, the acclaimed 4K producer, took it upon herself to document the beauty of the aging process, when an old lady turns 70. Armed with her cameras, she stepped out to capture this grizzled and raw beauty. The resulting project is a bittersweet look into the life of a woman who had already experienced so much, yet who still had an appreciation and awe for life. Through her tight wrinkled clothing and her naked grannys pictures, Barbara captures the creases, wrinkles, and muscles that make up the female form at 70. In addition, she also highlights the beauty, charm, and resilience that enabled her subject to make it to 70 in the first place. With her 4K shoots, Barbara has produced a series of heartwarming, tender images of a woman who is reveling in the privilege of being alive, and happy to be living life as she is – on her own terms.
